Scholarship program frequently asked questions:
When can I apply?
The internal scholarship award process is managed by SKC Foundation through two application, review, and award cycles: one for the Fall Quarter in August-September and one for the Winter Quarter in December-January.
Where can I find the application?
The SKC internal scholarship application process is all electronic. An online platform is used to capture all application content and be accessed by links on SKC's "Scholarships" webpage under the "apply" tab.
How much can I expect to receive?
While each student applicant's circumstances are different, SKC scholarship awards typically range from approximately $500-$2,000 per award cycle. In addition to the application content submitted and considered, a major factor in award amount is each student's individual "remaining unmet need." This number is determined by the SKC Financial Aid Department.
Who qualifies for scholarships?
Each application cycle will introduce baseline criteria for being considered for internal scholarships. This information is conveyed at the beginning of the application content and includes factors like GPA, full-time enrollment status, and remaining unmet need.
When are decisions made and how will I know?
At the close of each application cycle a review committee will review and score all completed, submitted applications. This takes up to 3 weeks, at which point all applicants are notified by email about their individual awards.
From that point, the SKC Business Office processes final award decisions and allocates funds to student accounts or distributes checks when relevant.
